The Projects addon is designed to help you organize and connect your work by linking individual spaces from different modules and addons to a specific project. This functionality enables seamless integration across your Boost.space environment, keeping everything related to a project in one place while maintaining visibility in other modules and addons.

How Does the Projects addon Work?

The Projects addon works by connecting various spaces from different modules and addons into a single project. Here’s a simple example to illustrate:

Let’s say you have Project X. For this project, you can attach two spaces—one from the Tasks module and another from the Contacts module.

  • In the Projects addon, you’ll see Project X with the attached spaces from Tasks and Contacts.
  • Simultaneously, in both the Tasks and Contacts modules, Project X will appear in the left-hand panel.

This interconnected system allows you to keep track of all project-related information across your workspace effortlessly.

How to Create a New Project

Creating a project in the Projects addon is quick and straightforward. Follow these steps:

1. Open the Projects addon and click on the “New project” button in the left-hand panel or click “New space”.

2. Give your project a name and define access permissions by selecting who will have access to this project.

3. Click “Create” to finalize the project setup.

4. Once the project is created, you can start adding spaces to it from any module or addon.

Example: Adding Spaces to a Project

Let’s say you want to add a space from the Tasks module and another from the Contacts module:

  1. Attach the space from the Tasks module.

2. Next, attach the space from the Contacts module.

3. After adding these spaces, you will see them listed within the project in the Projects addon.

Two-Way Integration

The Projects addon features a two-way integration, ensuring visibility across modules:

  • In the Projects addon, your project will display all attached spaces.
  • In the Tasks module, New Project will appear in the left-hand panel, showing its connection to the tasks within that module.

  • Similarly, in the Contacts module, New Project will also appear in the left-hand panel.

This dynamic linking ensures that no matter where you are in your workspace, you can always find and access your projects and related spaces easily.
