Fields overview
Fields are the typed columns of your data. Every record is made of fields, and the fields in a module define what you can store — text, numbers, dates, links to other records, files, computed values, and more. Typed fields are what make your data dependable for people, imports, automations, and AI agents alike.
Every record has a set of basic fields the system maintains (ID, Space, Status, Labels, Created time, Created by user, Remote ID). Everything else is a field you define (formerly called a custom field). Fields are part of your system's structure, so only admins create and manage them — but every user can fill them in.
